I met a guy at start of term who didnt know at the end of term if he would be doing it again, as it was out to tender

hes a really nice guy, but seems gullible, rents a radio off a circuit (his "mate")

I said "your back again then?"

"yeah, but had a pay cut"

"how come?"

"our company had to bid lower to get it"

(heres the interesting bit)

"the education rang our boss (base/circuit owner) and said the pupils parents wanted to keep the same car but another company had bid lower heres thier bid, can you match it, if so you can have it"

so hes had a £5/day pay cut......

Mmmm seems strange that because Notts County Council have been doing the same thing to firms, then again it could be the owners who are ripping him off and keeping the extra £10 a day on top of their already massive cut.

The education ringing and telling an operator what to bid to get a job is either unethical or illegal under EU law, and anyone who tenders has the right now to know what a job went for, or at least staffs and leics do that....

nah, i think the guy doing the run just gave the base an extra £30 a week

Frankly i just think his "mate" (base owner) probably did the same to all 140 cars renting radios at £85 a week and made an extra couple of grand a week...

BC you probably know the firm
