...seems to go out of the window when times are hard.

Two cabs whipped away with jobs in when I was front car today, on the rank. When I caught up with one of them he said he "had'nt seen me"  should've gone to specsavers?

As for the other, well, he would have done it for the sport, loves winding me up, he likes to tell his followers. I'm feeling harrassed right now.

Still, won't let it get to me, they obviously need it more than I do.

If they nick a job off the front, near the end of your shift, then when you pick up and drop off go straight home, and the following day spread the word that you had a London for £300.

We use to do something similar when we all had CBs.

It happens all the time in Grangemouth. Punters have their favourite company and will even wait at a full rank till one of the chosen appears.

There is none, law says a punter can take any cab they want off a rank, its only by agreement between drivers that 1st off the rank works

"BYELAWS" made under the town police clauses act 1847...
...with respect to Hackney Carriages in the City of Lincoln.

7 (e) "If his carriage is stationed on a stand, not accept any offer from a member of the public to hire his carriage, unless his carriage is stationed in the foremost position on that stand"

The secretary of state this day confirmed the foregoing byelaws and fixed the date on which they are to come into operation as the 9th day of July, 1976.

N.B. FAO Skippy41 et al, BYELAW, not condition of Licence.

so the rule can be "a HC must be a WAV", but anyone IN a wheelchair has to pass the whole row of WAVs to get in the front one? maybe 50 WAVs?

how bloody accesible! is that

if the LA wasnt "100% WAV" and the only WAV was at the rear of the rank do they have to wait for 50 jobs to take the 50 non-WAVs to leave?

this is red-tape going too far

makes me glad im PH.....
