What's the reason that the council have decided not to make it a 24 hour rank? Wasn't there a post previously on here about the hotel complaining about the noise and having the rank closed? |

Pete, (I don't want to call you "Stinky") what does the actual rank sign say? As far as I am aware, timed ranks have to have the times included on them (the actual sign). No times on the actual sign and it is de facto a 24 hour rank. If you could, a picture of the real sign would help. |

The rank sign should be on a pole, the one in your pic can be bought and made anywhere, and some one is taking the P iss There should also be yellow no parking except taxis signs on poles and possibly a sign with taxi rank?? |

If that is the only sign, it is completely unenforceable. Can you get pictures of the rank markings and surrounding signs. Has anyone received a ticket on this rank? If any tickets are issued, DO NOT PAY without asking me. The folks on www.pepipoo.com will annihilate any enforcement activity based on that sign. |

a driver went to the Council today The sign is owned by Dean Court Hotel manager, he has permission from the Council, taxi dept, to show that sign between the hours of 2200hrs and midnight, after that time it has to be removed by the Hotel staff, the signs stays there 24hrs a day so far, signs like that are not allowed on pavements in York The Council have seemed to have washed their hands with the taxi rank and given enforcement over to the Hotel manager YOU COULDNT MAKE THIS UP, COULD YOU we await the next spanner in the works to try and stop taxi drivers working |

Find a junkie in York. 2. Buy a can or three of spray paint. 3. Give cans of spray paint to junkie. 4, Offer £10 cash to junkie to spray paint the illegal sign & run. 5. Pay junkie £10. Job done!! |

Arrange for member of the public to 'trip over' said notice board and need A&E treatment via ambulance. 2. Phone Injury Lawyers 4U. 3. Member of public sues council for obstruction of pavement causing injury, negligence and associated charges with view to compensation. 4. Council redirect the claim to the hotel. |
