thanks to a wee scrote approaching a crossroads doing "30mph" at the iced over give way line, failing to see me on the main road. Headlights, taxi sign lit etc, but still I'm invisible. I seen him but had no where to go. result one (physically) crippled taxi and one (financially) crippled taxi driver.

I called for police attendance and was informed that due to there being "no injuries or damaged road furniture" they wouldn't come. So I asked why at this time of year a RTA didn't warrant a breathalyser test. That changed their tune. I now have a chance of proving liability as the other driver admitted taking his eyes off the road to adjust the stereo.

I'm not looking forward to phoning the insurance tomorrow at all. Not because of the accident, more for the aftermath when I come to renew in Feb.

at 0500 hrs early hours a few days ago, my son was out and about in the snow and ice going to work in his new astra diesel, not seen one vehicle on the road, he said normaly he would not have travelled that route , then as he came to pass a road junction on his left, a landrover freelander brakes and slides into his vehicle, good point about this he phoned his insurance company straight away amd admitted liabilty, two doors stoved in
I must say that the insurance company was quick on the ball,

the car was removed from his home address by recovery, but he his still waiting the return of the vehicle,
the insurance offered hire car but my son refused because of the scams the car hire companies do, ie charge for scratches or not filling the tank, the list goes on, the price of the hire car was a £1 deposit but must be paid by credit card, so he fcked them off

I do believe the rules have changed, if the other party admits it was their fault you will not suffer when you come to renew, well thats what the insurance people told my son

There have been 3 accidents in the last year invilving taxis in my town at the same junction. We have a strange system whereby buses and taxis can turn right at the junction before this one so drivers coming out of the said junction do not expect to see any vehicles. Best bit is these vehicles should not even be using this particular junction at all.

a no-fault accident with a 3rd party who admits (or cannot deny) it was thier fault...

well i know what id do, xmas off and loss of profits, or everything paid in your hand within 7 days, thats what i got years ago after telling the 3rd parties insurance broker (who was trying to fob me off with the "get a form" line) that my car is my living....kerching and a big panic, the last thing they want is a bill for income building up day by day

my car was assesed in 3 days, paid for in 7 and all other estimated costs with me in another 7 days, my loss of earnings claim took 2 weeks and no haggling

and i know if it had been MY fault then the other party would have done exactly the same

Yes, if you are hit and its clearly NOT your fault, do NOT ring your broker for a claim form, ring the 3rd parties broker and lay it down in no uncertain terms that every day you lose £100 wages...

i had another vehicle back-ended on a motorway exit island, the nice lady even wrote a note admitting her fault

Im not suggesting telling any lies, or claiming 1 penny in costs that you wont incur getting back to working, plating, new signs, meter refits, hire cars, hospital/doctor visits, vehicle recovery, etc, etc

A few years ago I hired one of my limos to an insurance claim company to replace one that was accident damaged. The car was away for 6 months at £200 per day plus VAT.

Insurance companies still load your premium for non fault accidents if you have more than 1 within a five year period which is why you are always asked for details of both fault and non fault claims when you insure your taxi/ph car

Can you get one of those plated cabs from that cab hire company, cannot remember there name, they pay for the licence and get the meter calibrated.
They have saloons and hacks available and the other insurance foots the bill

In hand Skip. All but arranged. Too late in contacting me before Insurance Company closed for the day. They had bogus mobi number on file for me. I was out of house (at doctor). So by time I got back and phoned broker for update it was after 4. Company name is proximo.

A guy round here has just got one of them after being hit by another car when the snow first came down a few weeks ago. He's got a 10 plate Octavia.
