A father has criticised the release of a failed asylum seeker who was prosecuted over a car crash that left his 12-year-old daughter dead.

Aso Mohammed Ibrahim fled after hitting Amy Houston in Blackburn in 2003 and was later jailed for four months.

The Iraqi Kurd was due to be deported after his application for asylum was refused, but has been released from detention pending another appeal.

Shocking case, and its been revealed the guilty party was caught driving while banned whilst on bail for this offence!

nah, leave that to the Iraqis he's allegedly so scared to face.

The UK Border Agency (UKBA) will appeal against a ruling preventing the deportation of an asylum-seeker who left a girl dying under a car.

Immigration Minister Damian Green made the announcement hours after the prime minister expressed anger at the case.

Iraqi Kurd Aso Mohammed Ibrahim was jailed for four months after knocking down Amy Houston in Blackburn in 2003.

On Thursday, the 33-year-old was told he could remain in the UK as he had fathered children there.

In a statement issued by the Home Office, Mr Green said: "We are extremely disappointed at the tribunal's decision and are appealing.

"He was convicted of committing an offence that led to the tragic death of a 12-year-old child and it is our view that he should be removed."

4 months detention, will be out in 2, hows that justice? i hope dad arranges a "coming out" party for him, im sure there will be plenty of volunteer helpers.

Its all too regular now, failed asylum seekers get to stay, and they have no respect for any UK laws, watch UK Border patrol, then watch the australian equivalent, the difference is amazing....
