Post subject:  Advice for a new member

Hello everyone this my first message to you all, I am after some advice.
I am presently a HGV driver but after 20 odd years of sleeping in laybys
and being treated like rubbish I am looking to change jobs. I have been offered a private hire drivers job in the Wolverhampton area and am at present going through my licence application , I would like to know what sort of hours I will work (will be doing days) and what sort of money I could expect to earn. Thanks in anticipation for any help and advice.

How long is a piece of string, is perhaps the best answer.

It all depends on how many hours a day you want to work, and what days. Will it be your car, or will you drive someone else's? Will you be working with a big firm, or a small one?

Basically you will earn what you need to, and if you are a grafter, then you should earn a little bit more.

Good luck. [-o<

I doubt if you will be earning huge sums doing days for 40-50 hours, depending how much you earn HGVing then you might end up earning less.

I suspect you would have to have your own car and work nights and weekends etc to make a good sum, so basically that's back to $hit hours and being treated like rubbish.

But good luck if you want to give it a go, once you actually make a start it will be more obvious how much you can earn and how you can maximise your earnings.

Suck it and see!
