Now they have gone, the hacks can move back in can they not??. I was only asking a question not making a statement Since Birmingham Airport opened in 1939, Hackneys have always worked the rank at Birmingham Airport without any interruption of service. When PTS took over the contract on 1st June 2009, there was a time when Hackneys were thin on the ground and a PH backup was used. That backup lasted about a month. PH have never been the primary service. |

All will be revealed in due course, but for the moment, suffice to say that it would appear that PTS were a bunch of dairymen!! I am confident that an amicable solution is in the pipeline and just the f's, i's, j's and t's need completing. |

The following notice, typed on Birmingham Airport note paper, appeared today in the window of the taxi rank manager’s office; 'Birmingham Airport confirms that by mutual consent PTS (Passenger Transport Solutions (UK) Ltd) has relinquished the Licence to operate taxi services at the airport. Airport Ranks Ltd, an associate company of Cabcard Services (UK) Ltd, has been licensed by BIA to operate taxis from the airport for the remaining Licence term. There is no change to the operation and all PTS badges displayed to allow access to the airport will of course be recognised during the transition process.' |
