Just a general moan. With the freedom of information act and all the information we are supposed to have now apparently at our fingertips or a couple of clicks away. Why are most local authority websites [edited by admin] poor? Carlisle's is awful, and they have even blamed the floods! When you consider most tax payers are paying LA's to employ IT officers and departments, you really think they'd gewt the information avaiable to all as soon as possible. regards Captain cab |

I agree totally. Every LA website I have ever had cause to visit has been extremely poor. Information is extremely limited and very often out of date. It is hight ime the councils made these websites more informative and easy to use. |

Some are certainly better than others, but one big problem is finding stuff which is probably there but finding it is often another matter, unless it's a site you visit all the time. Mind you, compared to 10 years ago we've got easy access to all kinds of official papers and other information that we wouldn't have had at that time, not to mention discussing things on sites like this. Mind you, I don't know if the last point is a good thing or a bad thing

your right TDO its certainly a lot better than it was. But the LA websites should be far easier to access information from than they are, and some are awful, especially when you consider that LA's do employ people especially to keep the bloody things going! Im going to email CCC first thing on Monday morning, asking why the minutes of panel meetings and agendas are not easily accessible (if on there at all) Captain cab |
