Age limits on taxi and ph vehicles are nothing new, but Lincolnshire County Council have just imposed an upper age limit of ten years on vehicles used on school and social service contracts. Doesn't apply to buses, some of which are older than me. Operators affected by this ruling are revolting. |

If thats what they want the council could be fecked big style when they put the school contracts up for renewal, as I cannot see many tendering under this new procurement thingy |

Operators affected by this ruling are revolting. In all fairness I can't see how a council can say to it's taxi/PH fleet that they mustn't be older than X, yet allow PSVs operators to run buses of any age doing their contracts. Well done to the council, and bo****ks to the buses.

Yh it is if your vehicle is coming to 10 years you'll need a vehicle under 6 years for it to be licenced an plated an if your hackney vehicle is expired to renew your plate you'll need a wav under 4 years. |

Your right Skip...its a bigger operators charter this procurement thing, it will do no more than form cartels that will can charge what they see fit as no one else will be either interested or still operating. |

Three big Gala companies have handed back there contracts last week, in the hope that the council will increase there prices as the operators can no longer afford to do them at there submitted prices |

Obviously the Council (County/education) can do exactly what it wants (he who pays the piper/etc) but the reuslts of who then tenders and at what cost will (maybe) give them a shock (lets hope so anyway) Staffs leave it to the LA's to make the HC/PH rules.....for now |

There is talk of getting rid of the green plates but it's been going around for over a year now
