Post subject:  Bournemouth Taxi Drivers/ New driver help

Just about to take my first test to becoming a Taxi driver in Bournemouth, I've worked as a Head chef for 15 years and have had enough of working for idiot's, My father kept telling me to get my license to drive so finally I'm taking the plunge and doing it ....

My question is are there any driver's from Bournemouth here that can give me a rough estimate on how much I can make a week if I work 50 hours a week prob Fri and Sat night plus 3 days a week.

This is a huge leap for me changing careers at 34 years of age and I'd appreciate any advice from anyone at the moment

Many thanks '

Iad

And now you will be working with them.

Be amazed if anyone gives you an amount on an open forum, but I will estimate if you work nights, including Friday and Saturday, you will earn what you need to.

I'll be driving Private hire on a money sharing basis at first then after a few months maybe rent a car during the days.

As a relative newbie myself I wish you good luck. I know the area quite well. I think with the summer season just kicking in you've started at a good time. Certain clubs, pubs and restaurants produce a better class of drunkard, its just a question of asking around. Have you seen Horshoe Common at about 2am on a Saturday?

With the language schools and lots of foreign students in the summer, I am told business can be fairly brisk although not as good as in the boom years obviously.

Bournemouth is still a relatively affluent area. I think you will be fine as long as you actually enjoy the work.
