Has anyone any first hand experience of operating a "Taxi Bus" service? I understand legislation also permits a PH to operate a "bus" type service on a pre set route. |

First hand experience - no. But the ones running in Plymouth did not do well and have stopped. A kind of service like this still operates in the North-West corner of the City. PH vehicles can now operate in this way - with the exception of Plymouth. The Legislation adjusted the 1976 act for everywhere else, but not the 1975 City of Plymouth act. |

Thanks Chris. I think I have spotted an opportunity in our manor for a "night taxi bus" on Friday and Saturday nights. Seems the special VOSA license is only £61 if I'm reading it right. |

I think they can, and do, work in rural areas, but have my doubts about the viability in urban areas. However if you have looked into it and think you can make out of it, then go for it. |
