Has anyone looked into one of these, or actually got one? Are they any good?

One of the lads on the rank has a Metrocab dual fuel, petrol and LPG, ex-London.

Admittedly it's a V reg, but he had no end of trouble with it when he first bought it.

When they run on LPG the engine runs very hot, althought the cooling system does cope. However, the pistons, piston rings, cylinder block and head all seem to get far hotter then they were ever designed to be. On a new vehicle it's OK, but all those part soon become quite brittled because of the heat generated. If you're going to sell the vehicle at about 80,000 to 100,000 miles, you'll probably be OK. Much above that and you're starting to encourage very heavy repair bills.

At least that's what I've been told anyway.

I already have some cars on LPG. I was just wondering if anyone had heard anything about these particular cars.
