Is it my Imagination that leads me to think that there are fewer new posts and fewer revisted posts on TDO since its recent Upgrade?

I hit "View New Posts" and there are never as many as there used to be and the "View Unread posts" seem pretty stagnant as well!

whats really happening here?

Like most things it's goes up and down, and nationally we are in a bit of a nothing cycle, which should liven up a bit soon.

As for those that visit the site, and the hits the site have, last time I spoke to admin they said it goes up about 20% each year.

The number of monthly visits the site gets is in the 100s of 1000s, and the number of monthly hits is in the 10s of 1,000,000s.

I would guess without Mr Skippy, as there are not enough noughts available to show his usage.

meeeeowwwwww :D

I'm posting on here about my usual level but I have noticed a few of the regulars like toots have been posting a lot less and on every visit there doesn't seem to be many new threads. But it is a busy time of year for holiday traffic airports etc as the mass rush to grab cheaper low season holidays starts so maybe they are all a little busy at the moment

The other thing is that under the old software you stayed permanently logged in and on this even if you tick the box you find yourself having to log in regularly so maybe not being logged in is discouraging posting ?

I have no problem just tick the box to stay logged in, I have TDO forums page saved as favorites at the top of the list so the main forum page comes up all the time

So do I.
I have posted slightly fewer times since the new look forum because I have blocked certain members, I no longer see their posts so I no longer respond to them. Simples.

I've posted less but I do tend to check in daily but not so at the weekend. I'm a busy girl I have plans to make  I'm not sure I like the new look forum either but I'm sure it'll grow on me :D

I have noticed that there is a frequency of posting that follows the cycles of the moon. The Posting of some folk appears to drop, as the Moon wains!

I blame the avatars. Too much detail.

And the ignore option is a bad idea as well. I mean, how do you know if someone has won the point or the other person simply hasn't read the response?

The debates on here are generally, er, lacking in integrity anyway, and that feature just makes things worse.

What I always liked about phpBB was that it was more of a straightforward discussion forum rather than one with all the unnecessary bells and whistles that ruin many a forum.

This updated version is certainly heading in that direction.
