When I was in my teens I could polish that off no problem, when I joined the army I was rationed to 6 breakfasts and evening meal consisted of 2 large mains, and all depending on the pudding it was a min of 8 helpings My mum used to go ballistic with me, as she would buy a loaf of bread in the morning and it was gone by lunchtime before anyone else got a slice The dinner ladies at my secondary modern school in Harlech always said they would rather keep me for a week than a fortnight, and out of the 600 kids there I could eat for the lot of them The day I left they gave me a whole jam roly poly and a jug of custard all to myself Now I survive on 1 main meal a day with a light snack around lunchtime |
