I think the fa have done the right thing this time I know practically every football fan the country over is shouting for redknapp But i reckon a man with International experience and well known and respected by the players is the ideal short term manager the only downside is perhaps his tactical knowhow

But then I'm probably the only man in England who thinks Redknapp might make a mess of the England job everyone else seems to think with Redknapp in charge winning a major trophy would be a walk in the park !

Opinions gentlemen !

This afternoon the FA said they would pick the best man for the job, irrespective of nationality.

Come on down Jose Mourinho!!

Well Edders I'm going to say you obviously know a bit more about football than most.

Redknapp managed my team and although he is a personality he isn't as clean as he would like you to think, also he can only manage if he has a 40 strong squad to pick from, during his good times 35 of those have not been English lads, he likes an African tbh for their strength and speed, he also has this thing that if Harry doesn't like you you don't play no matter how good you are, and if he thinks he needs another player he insists the cheque book is available, so to back you up on it, yes he's a good club manager, but as an England one short term he may do ok with Defoe and King playing for him, but long term he will fail.

Stu Pearce, this man would've had the job before Sven if I'd had anything to do with it, he's a natural born leader, patriotic to the bone and didn't do that bad at Man City on limited means, I've always felt the FA were grooming him anyway, but it would be best to get him in now and ignore results for 3 years so he can establish his own way, no doubt those tits at FA HQ will do something to miff him off eventually, or if not them the medias, cos as we all know there's nothing worse if you are high profile or serving in a combat zone than a reporter.

So Edders, chalk me down as in full agreement, this could knock on to a ressurection of the UK in the end once that dirty tar brush has fallen off the British as useless lazy scum, and perhaps business will see it's better to pay a bit more to get staff who are better, I can back that up with a business I've used for over ten years, always been good to me, forum says otherwise recently, difference is the support staff used to be British, now they are all Eastern European and the care factor has dropped away because they are only here as long as it's worth being here, where a Brit may see that job as a job for life and look after it better.

The FA are a joke imo anyway, none of them know football at stud level, they forced Cappello out medling again, and the message is clear from them, they found JT guilty long ago, TV footage says something else but hey that's not what the PC machine wants to hear is it.

I agree he's a free agent. I don't think Redknap would do a good job because of the restrictions the FA will impose on him.

Stuart Pearce is a nice enough fella.

However they shouldn't have got rid of Fabio until after the Euro Cup.

It will interesting to see who gets the job, but no man worth his salt will put up with the suits telling him who can or can't be captain.

Think Redknapp would be good for the job but mad to take it.He is well liked at spurs and i dont think there actually struggling. Why take on the pressure of the england managers post ? Its a tough decision. I cant really see us getting past the semis in euro with any manager !

He walked didn't he?

Stuart Pearce would be the right man for the job IMO he's passionate, he knows the set up and he's not scared to open his mouth after all he had a good teacher in Brian clough.

He used to live round our way when played for Forest, I picked him and his father up many times. Both were true gentlemen.

If we get to the semis in the Euros it will be like winning the bloody tournament.

We're out at the group stage!!

Why?

Because the JT thing has already split the England squad on racial lines, whether JT is selected for the squad and goes to the Euros or not!!!

I would prefer Martin O'Neil. He did wonders at Leicester with average players.

It does not necessarily follow that he would do wonders with England, with average players too.

Here's what I think and I don't really know much but I heard that some of the greatest football managers in history and at present hail from north of the border so perhaps the FA would do well to look there

I heard a dog called Rosie has placed £500k on Harry getting the job

but with my admitted limited knowledge of the game down south(or up here, for that matter) I reckon Pearce is a good shout for the posistion.
