I've recently lost my dad, this has made me re-evaluate things, as I'm nearly 50 and may make 70 I wanna tell you all something. Regardless of who you are, YOU ARE GOING TO DIE eventually, now do you want folks to miss you or do you want folks to say thx flucks that clunt is gone, or do you want them to feel they lost something? I've been looking around for some time and I see self indulgent assholes who will tramp over me rather than offer a hand. YOU ARE FROM DAY ONE GOING TO DIE, WHO DO YOU THINK WILL SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED? I like this site because it shows out the man flaws in folks, have a good look at yourself, ask yourself if you are working for the good or yourself, I will be ok because I have faith, and that faith will see me past the climbers and the abusers. Nothing finer than looking at a billionaire on his deathbed watching his eyes as he knows his wealth isn't going to be his much longer. Oh yeah, and he was 81 years old and we had a great show out for him, what does that say? last week I went to an ex cabby funeral and had to stand up, again what does that say, good boys get remembered, sadly the good boys are running out. enjoy tearing the ass out of each other. |

theres 1 to 5 % in this country richer than ever before......the rest of us must work to keep that percentage in a position....they dropped a b*llock with the banks and its the rest of us that have to pay for the outcome........skull's farm thinking isnt a million miles away from the truth. Look at the media this week picking on apple in respect of their iphone being made in china....slave labour and all of that......yet is this that far away from hiring east europenas to drive and work in this country? Please dont tell me it keeps prices down, because it doesnt. The lastest thing is Iran......now this thing could easily start world war 3.....who's going to benefit....not me, not you, not a single person i know. CC |

Thx Nidge. I edited the original post, it was a bit scathing and probably uncalled for, but I did see him off yesterday and part of me is annoyed with him that he ignored the new rules that were set down for him regarding his health, I will always miss him because he was a great man, but he made one big mistake and that was he thought he was brand new again after they fixed him up last year, sadly he wasn't new at all and he red lined his fragile motor in the end, he thought a couple of beers wouldn't do any harm, so if any of you have a major op in future and get told things to avoid, avoid them, the Dr doesn't speak for the sake of it. |

Commiserations for you sad loss. You make some interesting observations on your subsequent points. Why are we working, and for what aim? Many drivers are working loads and loads of hours just to get by, but would they starve if they packed in the game and signed on? Methinks not. |

Chin up Doom. It is a sad time but you can at least look back on your fathers life with some pride. You may feel cheated out of a couple more years with your dad but lets face it 81 years old is still a good innings. God bless. |

Thx again guys, I've been of the opinion I've been lucky to have him for that long tbh, and I'm not life angry about it, I'm annoyed with him as he may well have got to 90 if he'd not had a sneaky pint here and there, spoke with one of his horse racing club members and he said on New Years Day he was in the bar giving it I'll have a beer but make sure she (meaning mum) isn't watching, just like a kid whose started smoking, as if you could deny it to someone who neither smokes or drinks, both make you smell. I've a feeling he'd had enough anyway, he's been living on pills for about the last 7 years and I think the drinking was his own way of re-enacting the last scene from Vanishing Point. |

My condolences on your loss its never easy picking yourself up after the death of a parent but always remember the great times you had together memories are something no one can take from you |

Doom, I lost mum in july, she had the Big C but wasnt fit anyway, and over 80, dads 90 this year - he had a stroke 3 years ago, done well to get up again but now in a care home bless him, i can still recall days spent with him in his Guy Warrior coal truck 4 in hand, greedy boards....... yes, everyone is gonna die, and the turnout at the funeral is no comfort theres no distinction between rich and poor in the graveyard chin up doom, always...............look on the bright side of life |
