Monday only day that went reasonably OK
Tuesday 1 driver got up to find a note from his wife of 20 years telling him shes left him and never to try and contact her again or speak to her again !2nd driver took day off to put his car through test and it would be very busy when your short cars ! and our mercury software locked us out and they couldn't get into the license key software in the half hour I could get into the office brilliant finally got off the road at 7 pm and spent an hour on phone calls to their out of hours support staff who also hadn't got access to it even though they knew there was a problem !
Weds another driver off to put car through test and big jobs coming at us left right and centre leaving only 1 car covering town and a few disgruntled regulars not wanting to wait 20 minutes but we got through it then the fun really started nightdriver 1 broke down on his way in nightdriver 2 carries on on his own then 3 phone calls driver whose car in for test is off the road for rest of week while garage waits for parts to fix what it failed on (door handle!)nightdriver 2's uncle has just died and he needs to leave immediately and won't be in for a few days so I have to quickly bolt the rest of my dinner down and rush out to cover nightshift then driver whose wife has left him phones to tell me he needs to take time off because it has finally hit him so 4 out of 8 cars down in the space of 1 hour. Luckily nightdriver1 got himself back on the road after a couple of hours so didn't have to work whole night
Thursday driver doing 6am start has already had a where's my taxi phone call for a booking night drivers didn't tell me about

I wonder what's next just hope driver who is very upset about wifey takes my advice and goes and spends a couple of days with friends and relatives not mope about the flat on his own as he is doing at the moment

Look on the bright side. At least you aren't having a council inspection.

Which is precisely why I work as an independent, which stresses me enough as it is :D

Hope you're making megabucks to compensate for all the grief :P

He should be out celebrating.

Give him a couple of weeks and he may well be out celebrating. Mind you if the house is in joint names it could account for his moping about.

to be honest shes a strange girl and he is quite popular amongst our female customers so he would find it quite easy to move on BUT as they say love is blind !

I drove past her today with one of her daughters pushing the latest grandchild in a pram she tried turning round thinking i wouldn't recognise her thought I had better give her a wave anyway

Unfortunately i haven't really earned much more and completely knackered myself up I just can't do the 90 to 100 hour weeks the way i used to so have had to drop out of tonight only managed 12 hours today up extra early tommorrow got a 06.00 booking to take a couple of fisherman out to a carp lake at Maxey that lane might be only half a mile long but it will certainly wake you up as well as shorten the life of the suspension !

Let's hope it doesn't turn out to be a crap lake, or you might not get a tip.

Hate those runs, especially when they obviously love the fact that the road is bad and they don't give you a tip.

Well remember one a few years ago on this awful road, and it turned out they were about 30 yards from home at one point, but preferred me to do a half-mile-detour to get them right to the door. And I'd already done a good half mile to get to within a few yards of their home.

And of course they're always at busy times, so because you're just crawling you're not making nearly as much as you could be.
