But a new Ford engine would cost me best part of £2,000. So I'm not convinced it's gotta be worth looking into.

as the title says, its NOT for modern common rail engines, but 2.5di or 2.5td (EPIC) engines with a Bosch pump are ok it seems, or Blackpools old Perkins unit.....

I wouldnt use it in my Mondeo TDci though, pump diesel is 5% bio and thats the most a modern diesel should run on, the earlier VAG (skoda?) "Umwelt" engines run on it though

Can you mix it with the TDCI engines?

Personally I avoid bio like the plague, my car seems to run bad on it, it's not advised to use it anyway by the maker, but it smokes heavy and sounds like a con rod is about to leave the block, don't get that with Shell, also found on a recent fuel filter change lots of black bits floating in the fuel and the filter totally blocked up, since change of filter black hasn't returned and car now sounds and runs better, I had been using Esso until this point with the odd Jet and Total splash n dashes, one of them has a dirty tank as I've never seen a filter of mine contain anything more than some fine particles that need time to settle to be able to even see them, thing is the filter I took out was only in for 25k.
