I don't normally work on tuesday nights but had to cover for the night driver till he got back from heathrow. I sat down the train station along with a few other cabs and in came the two 7 pm trains but not a single fare off either. Just after they pulled out a woman in her 30's came striding up to the station talking loudly on her mobile phone she went to the ticket machine then went up to the entrance to check the train boards then came back up to the little portico with the ticket machine (our station is only staffed mornings these days) complaining loudly about how late she was going to get back to Preston and continuing a business discussion with one person then 2 further phone calls . With no fares off the train I had got a book out to read but she was stood 15 feet from the taxi with my windows shut and was so loud I had to give up trying to read. Eventually after 20 minutes a call came in and I gladly shot off to the job! But I couldn't help thinking what it would have been like for the passengers in an open carriage having to listen to her I think they had a lucky escape !!

Some people don't know the difference between a telephone and a megaphone...

I was hoping you were going to tell me she jumped in your cab and for the £000s of pounds job you would have swallowed it.

But sadly you didn't.
