As far as I know in B&H and elsewhere there are still short-distance-tariffs, that encourage people to use, or better put, abuse a cab for short distance only, the meter starts very low and doesn´t count at all for 500 yards or so. The result is many, many three-pound-four-suitcases-no-tip-thank-you-mate-for-your-stupidity-fares. To encourage people to take a cab for a longer distance shorter distances should be more expensive in relation. Instead of just raising the tariff next time why not try something smart like this: Baden-Baden: < 0,5 km 5,20 > 0,5 km 1,80 Heidelberg: < 2 km 2,40 > 2 km 1,40 Heilbronn: < 3 km 2,20 > 3 km 1,60 Karlsruhe: < 1 km 3,00 < 2 km 2,50 < 5 km 1,60 > 5 km 1,50 Mannheim: < 2 km 2,50 > 2 km 1,50 Pforzheim: < 0,5 km 5,40 >0,5 km 1,35 (Prices in Euro) |

Well, the price is per k, so that´s 5 Euro for the first 2 k´s. Anyway, life is a lot cheaper in Germany, I paid 400 Pounds for a rat-hole (small room in shared house) in Brighton and wasn´t even allowed to claim housing benefit, for the owner wanted the money on the side and for 500 Euros you can get a decent small flat for your own there, even in an major cities. |
