One of the things I look upon as being my responsibility is to do my small part about net-working the cab-forums of different European countries within the given limits (as soon as I will find the time I also want to create a European cab-forum, unless there is already one or someone is quicker, which wouldn´t be bad though, it would save me the trouble).

I very much think it is about high time the trade establishes some form of international cooperation on behalf of the drivers, so far there are only contacts on the upper level, decision-makers, officials, in the whole it is in no way different from anything else in Europe, corporations join, but the workers fall behind, with the results we´ve all seen.

Of course, it is not an easy task, whereas there´s money to make for corporations and even our trade itself can benefit a lot by economising, creating European standards for gear and technology, the drivers won´t be able to participate in the same way and so far, at best they don´t really know what to do with themselves, except a few pioneers or, well, freaks like me there is not much contact so far, at the moment every foreign driver appears to be more of a competition, than chance for exchange and mutual learning, so, this is just a try, I wouldn´t be disappointed if there wouldn´t be much response, yet it is definitely worth a shot!

So far I am registered in cab-forums in four countries, Germany, England, France and Austria, (yet the French forum at the moment is log-in only, I will see to what I can do about that), I will supply the links and I offer to translate and post your hellos, comments etc. on those and vice versa (of course, this is only an option I feel obliged to offer, feel free to register yourself if anyone is up to it) and I will also from now on post anything of importance “internationally”, that is to say, with links to the other forums, so that there will the option for a discussion about it on an international level, so to speak.

So here are the links to “contact-thread to cab-forums in other countries” to

Germany (don´t mind Wattwurm, he has quite a quick tongue but a heart of gold) :

Most unions and many that have Hack PH members have international contacts and offices in Brussels, so as you point out the workers need access to information etc suggest you start at the TUC, much of what you seek might already exist or funding might be available I wish you luck.

I thought at the very least you would have steered them towards the Russian Politburo..

Thanks, erm, comrade Trotzki (hey, have you seen a pic of young Stalin b.t.w? Amazing! I´ll show it to you!) Yet, as I find it very hard to even find a union suitable for cabbies in Germany, perhaps in the UK it´s better, it´s not likely there is one suitable for Europe. Maybe if I won´t find one, I´ll found one

Young Stalin. Amazing, right?
