Might be in London on Friday night and wonder if any of you kind folks can give me some advice. How much roughly would a HC off a rank or flagged cost from Euston station to the Waterloo area (Gaunt St. about 3 miles) between 10 and 11pm ? Is there much difference in price if I just get the tube and can I go from Euston to Elephant and Castle (Northern Line) direct or do I have to change trains ? Any decent/cheap pubs and bars within about 1/4 mile of Gaunt St. ? Been invited by some old friends who want to take me clubbing in Ministry of Sound, whats the drink prices like in there, premium capital prices or reasonable ? Don't know if I'm going yet I'm just trying to work out how much it'll cost me first - I know the train alone is nearly £100 so if the drinks are going to be pricey it'll be an expensive night out and I'll give it a miss. |

A taxi from Easton to the MOS will cost about £13. Probably around the price of a beer in the club. |

And there's a lovely pub called 'the escape' about half a mile up the road next to southwark fire station on southwark bridge road. Reasonable prices. Good food.

Thanks for the replies. I've decided not to go, partly because I'd forgotten it was Jubilee bank holiday and mainly due to reviews of MoS on other websites. Sounds like even if you have a ticket you might struggle to get past the heavy handed bouncers unless you bung them another £20, not worth taking the chance. And there's no way I'm paying £9 for a double vodka coke. |
