To whom it may concern …. I am making a TV programme about the cost of living in the UK, in particular we’ll be looking at how where you live can affect how far your money goes. Our research tells us that the cost of fuel, petrol and diesel is most expensive in the South East of England and so I am looking for a taxi driver who would be happy to talk to us about the impact the price of fuel is having on their income and therefore their lifestyle. I wondered if it was possible to post a media request on your forum or if there was a way of contacting taxi members in the South East area of England. I am looking for a chatty taxi driver who is happy to be on television and discuss fuel costs. Hope you can help me in my search Regards, Kim Hughes | Producer / Director | Broadcast | ITV plc Mob: 07979 323933 | Kim.Hughes@ITV.com |

So a programme about the cost of living in the South East then ? Note to TV producers - there are other places in the country apart from Essex and London y'know. |

Can't see how it will help, TV show and cabby moan about the price of fuel, George is watching the show and slashes 50p PL off the pump price, yeah right, and as for people needing to know we are facing larger bills please do launch a show about insurance costs for cabs. |

What about the cabby who lives and works on one of the Scottish islands, you may not understand him but he will moan a lot about fuel prices especially when he is paying around 50P a litre more than the mainland The south east is not the most expensive either the whole bloody country is |

It's a strange old world. We complain that nobody is interested and then when somebody is we complain because we don't like the area they chose to broadcast from and then proffer that it won't make any difference to the cost of fuel when they never said it would. They are clearly just producing a current affairs/human interest program. I personally would like a company to produce a program to cover a story about the psuedo employment of private hire drivers
