I have seen a Sandwell plated TOA cab WTF !!!

( Tried to upload photo but it won't upload )

There web site says

Quote:
All our drivers have passed the Birmingham City Council Hackney Carriage Knowledge test and have been professionally trained by TOA, ensuring the highest possible standards. They have been CRB checked and hold NVQ diplomas.
Quote:

Is this still the case ?

I would strongly suspect that this vehicle has been recently bought and the TOA livery and decals have not been removed before it has been plated by Sandwell.

I would also strongly suggest that this is the way that the new vehicle owner wants his now Sandwell licensed hackney carriage to continue in its appearance. Just think about that one!! Think hard!!

I was a member of Birmingham's TOA [Radio Systems] Limited,to give them their full name for some 31 years until April 2010 and I know how they work. Their members would not stand this type of carry-on.

But I will check just now with a phone call and if you don't here any more from me then assume that this vehicle is not on the Birmingham TOA circuit.

I have spoken to a Sandwell driver at the garage I use for repairs, I am always there (Metrocab) and he told me that they were getting toa pda's. but won't be able to do any jobs within Birmingham, just in Sandwell.

Sounds fair enough to me.

That's not what I was told today by one of the committee members at TOA.
