That control has been lost in society,

This is a direct result of having the wrong people making the decisions in life (this isn't aimed at the LC btw, it's just part of the whole problem) so we end up with guessers making policy, lets see if this works and if it doesn't who cares, typical I'm alright Jack scenario,

You have a government that is treading water for as long as the public allow it to, they aren't solving any debt crisis because all they are doing is milking the pot ready to jump into the lifeboat and leave the mess for the next lot, who will either continue in this vein or face a mountain of issues, same thing is happening at council level, take the cabs you have councils quoting ppl waiting at ranks, big deal they waited at a club and the bar, why is it such an issue to have an instant cab, the real answer to the problem is easy, you provide a shelter for the public, you provide some marshals to make sure ppl behave and to assist the public at cost to the venues that happily filled them up who are making huge profit anyway, but in the council eye the answer is lets issue more mouths to feed from an empty bag,

Policy on pubs, since the smoking ban and the Tesco box of beer deals came about the pubs are closing one by one until there will only be one pub per city, what a great idea for community, road after road of strangers, next door who never speaks, these ppl have neglected to see the value of a pub, it's the room where you can decide if others are ok or to be avoided without inviting them into your own home,

Car policy, lets go green eh, tax after tax after tax, tell me who made it so that you couldn't walk to the corner shop anymore cos it closed down, tell me who allowed cars to do 20 mpg that are now doing 44 mpg, yep money folks again, these cars have always been able to do good mpg, it's all down to the engine size and the gearing, but they all the time they wanted Shell profits to be large chose to make low return engines and cars, and lets really look at it, get a world map out and look at the UK, it's a stamp on a wall, do they really think if we all drove cars powered by the sun and wind with no emissions it would make any difference, the clue is ratio's, whatever man can throw at nature nature has man on a 2/1 basis, man can only do his bidding on 1/3 of the planet, that gives nature that advantage to clean us up, need proof, oil tanker runs aground, not good but the spilt oil is removed and broken down by the sea until there is no trace of the oil, nature is a natural washing machine and until man outweighs nature (which he can't unless the sea reduces drastically) all those that thought the end was coming got it wrong, worry about a pole slip, asteroid or ice age these are the things that will kill man off if they ever happen, not a V8 at the Pod,

Face it the whole place is run by bluffers and blaggers, people who got the job because they knew the right person, or had the money to buy the job, here's a snip for you, which country has a chancellor who had to run to his daddy because he was about to get repossessed, answers on a postcard please.

So do we take it that you, Mr Doom, believe that the remedies to the woes you have listed will be in Part II, the Miscellaneous Section of the new Cab Act 201??

I'd imagine none of it Brum, if you could step out and observe from a distance for the next 100 years you'd probably hope for a loon to push the launch button and bring the greedy to their knees, well actually not, more like evaporate the problem in one hit.

Oh, I agree with you on that.
