Driver..

- Forgets to press the correct button on the PDA
- Walk inside the office and be nosey over the booking logs to see what is in for them
- Feed your controllers with money, tea, food and so on to get the best jobs

Put all your concerns here...

Think positive and how this could be improved, share any experiences and how you controlled it?

First one no, the others yes.

Maybe the operator has taken his eye of the ball.

Ban drivers from coming into the office unless there's paperwork/admin to do. If they do, then don't give the a job until they've left the office.

If you do base pick ups, then just allow the first driver in the plot to be in the office.

Owner..

- Takes on more drivers, even with no increase in work(greedy tw~t)
- Employs monkeys in the office and pays peanuts .
- Tells monkeys who get peanuts to stitch up owner drivers and give best jobs to owners cars(greedy tw~t)
- Denies that monkeys put jobs in,back to front, wrong time, wrong day and house number.

Ill tell you what annoys drivers more than the above

Base ops "feeding" (FTF) the "inner circle" of a few favoured cars, bookings going out by texts, or the base owners own cars getting plum jobs, base ops "buffering" jobs (delaying the calls a few minutes to see who can have what, instead of next on the ranks)

But what pleased me one night was the driver who snapped, the base op locked the office door but he kicked it in, and vented his frustration on chairs, desks, telephone and her notepad of buffered jobs....

Bravo that man, and that is the 100% reason I bought a plate all those years ago so I wouldn't have to put up with brown nosers getting ahead of me anymore.

And @ Waq if yer reading, I did control for many firms on a freelance basis when I took a few years out from behind the wheel, I would not feed anyone and it really leveled the field, some of my "friends" stopped talking to me and some of my others couldn't wait for me to come on the air, but the basics were all those that worked my shift earned really good money, and the weak fell away moaning in the office to the manager, so if you work a divert routine I'd advise you to stop it asap, one firm which was the largest one at the time died due to it, when I first joined them they had 50 cars, this peaked at 60 before it died 9 years later with 12 cars including me and 6 company cars remaining, that's where greed gets you in the end, I could tell you how to clean up but I'm not going to.

The trouble with doing that doom is it is sometimes a case of out of the frying pan and into the fire firstly you need to replace the driver and secondly the driver will walk down the road and go somewhere else and then constantly pester you for their job back because down the road don't look after their drivers ! Believe me sometimes it is better to contain the problem than use the ultimate sanction

Yeah he can, he simply says to a driver, yer gone ta ta, or to an owner, gimme the data head back ta ta, he can't sack them from being a cabby, but he can sack them from being his cabby,

Anyway like Wannas said, PH is riddled with fancy a cup of tea types, if a courtroom used the same morality nobody would go to jail.

It really annoys me when someone starts a thread with an incomplete question.

Perhaps it's just me.
