Last Sunday afternoon we had a Vulcan bomber overhead. Now that was noisy, but good to see.

Think that's the only noise I wouldn't mind being woken up by, along with the Hurricane, Lancaster, Vulcan, Concorde - anything with a Merlin or Avon engine. And the Red Arrows are welcome to do a display over my house day or night anytime, bring along a Hercules and Chinook and I'd be even happier ! Probably just a nostalgia or pride thing. :)

we get Chinook's and Apache gunships at low altitude, very low sometimes.....

when we lived in Wales (20 years ago) i was in Betws-y-Coed and a Hercules came in so low he collected a bit of the foliage off the trees, that was in practise for Bosnia

We regulaly get the Red Arrows overhead. 2 of them were over this afternoon. We also get the Hercules flying low sometimes. When I was a kid and I used to visit my Nan and Grandad who lived near Alconbury the yanks would be flying very low and very fast in their Phantoms. they were deafening.

we are on the main flightpath back to their home base so we get regular visits on bank holiday sunday we had a spitfire dive on the classic car show at the meadows about a dozen times plus we get visits for about 6 other events as well as them passing over on their way back from airshows etc. I cannot believe they fly them as much as they do

You're going back some years... been there when they did that.... and learned to canoe in the Lakes just past Betws-y-Coed ... some good rock climbing there as well....

Back in 1966-67 ? I was near Biggen Hill when the Lancaster bomber from the now memorial Flight flow in from Australia it was white then and in a bad condition ,the engines were farting and sputtering but the noise was undeliverable. Only things we get here are planes from Gatwick or Heatrhrow very boring. since Concord was band by the yanks.
