assuming you keep your vehicle in decent shape and don't draw too much attention, do the old bill bother you much or no more than other road users?

Unless they have reason to pull you over, they wont.

But the council, police, DVLA, inland revenue, do spot checks every now and again. Trying to catch the naunties out. :shock:

naughties? what are they lookig for? making sure you're licenced & declaring income etc?

How do they check for red diesel? Do they siphon some out and just check the colour?

They stick a dipstick down and check the results, takes a good 2 or 3 seconds. :shock:

or they pop the bonnet and take a look at your fuel filter. the red dye stains the filter element.

so even if there is none in the car at the moment, they can see if you have used it in the past.

There's a bloke selling blue dye on Ebay.......oh yes, I dye my deisel blue officer so that it's distinguishable if it get's stolen....yeah, right!
