Hi guys, Was just wanting to pick your brains with regards to booster seat law. I believe that we are exempt from having to use booster seats in licensed taxis, I need the exact wording of what is allowed and not allowed or if there is a particular act I can look up. Basically I went to the supermarket to pick up a single mum and her child and parked in parent and child parking whilst I went in to get her. Last week I received a letter from a private parking services company with a £70 fine for using the space. I can only assume they are fining me as there were no child seats in the vehicle and they wrongly assumed I was using the space without good reason I have the right to appeal in writing but wanted to include some evidence that we aren't required to use booster seats by law. Any help would be much appreciated Cheers |

It is not a fine, it is an invoice. Just bin it and any other correspondence you get from them. Under no circumstances should you reply to any correspondence from them. |

It is not a fine. Tear it up and bin it. They will send loads of letter threatening this that or the other, take no notice and read the stuff on pepipoo if you are concerned. Two, the taxi/PH trade are exempt from the child-seat provisions brought in in 2006. The link below is a good guide. http://www.dft.gov.uk/think/education/e ... ety-belts/ |
