So long as you don't carry a passenger, no.

You can't even complete the fare you have on board. You have to get onto your office or the phone and arrange another cab to pick them up.
Cops will pull any licensed vehicle using one with more than the driver aboard.

what about those cars which have no spare wheels.....only a puncture repair kit?

Are you allowed to use them or have you got to use a normal sized wheel for a spare? The reason I'm asking is our lot allow them and they'll allow drivers to ride round all weekend with the space saver fitted to the vehicle, now these tyres are for emergency use only like to (get you home) and are not to be used as a spare tyre. I've seen many drivers round our way running around on space savers for 3-4 days carrying 4 passengers and also doing motorway work. Now aren't these tyres are limited in weight, mileage and speed? I've been in touch with the LO and the local Police about this and us reverting back to normal sized tyres for spare wheels but as usual the Council seem to be hiding their heads in the sand.

trouble is many cars have space savers but the wheel well isnt big enough to hold a standard wheel a proper wheel+tyre kept at home is the only answer in such cases

Depends on local authority, some may require you to have a full sized spare when your car is in for an inspection, others dont. Don't think weight matters as long as there is only one space saver wheel on the car (not two or more!) though whether you can use one while the car is fully laden I dont know, mileage - in terms of how quick it will wear out, is probably gong to be more since a skinnier tyre is going to wear quicker, and I'd imagine most are restricted to 50-56mph or so.

The question was whether a car can be used to carry fare paying passengers whilst using a space saver tyre. If the car doesm't have a spare wheel then they can't, by definition, be using a space saver wheel can they? Obviously if they have a puncture repaire kit and they use it to repair a puncture and the said puncture is repaired using the kit, then it is repaired and can be driven as usual.

If they actually worked, do you think Muggins Orion5000fuelsaver would bother spamming a Forum like this? Of course Muggins wouldn't, because they would be flying off the shelf if the product worked.
