I think that the B+B owners or hoteliers or who ever should be allowed to accept or refuse whoever they want to with the exception of race or disability. Just as the Gay couple expect equality of treatment then so should the proprietor be allowed an equality of treatment!

Would it not have been easier to find some common ground between the Proprietor and the potential guests and to sort out something amicable rather than to intimidate either party into accepting it or else. This did not have to go this far and even after it did it should never have merited compensation of £3600. a simple fine if needed would have been enough and not a financial award as well.

Sometimes the inflexibility and intolerance can come from both sides...what happened good old common sense solutions and that people should respect the views of others even if they don't match that of their own..
