Can anyone advise on the best insurance company to go with price wise , getting quotes of anything up to £2000. I was expecting it be high as this my first time insuring a private hire, but surely there is cheaper any guidance and advice would be much appreciated .

ps 29 with ten years no claims although i have been told your no claims dosent help for insuring a private hire

TIA

I would download a copy of Private Hire Monthly http://www.phtm.co.uk/?inc_id=5 and work my way through it.

It might also be worth asking the local owners who they use and why. Swinton seem to be used and quoted by some drivers, and many others use Westminster.

I think you just need to spend a day going through the lot of them, and it would be interesting to see how much the difference is between the dearest and cheapest.

My betting is £3,000.

have you tried the local brokers.
ive always used them and they are nearly always cheaper.
also if you have a claim you havent got to talk to some daft bint on the phone.
my broker even fills in my claims form so i dont balls it up.
