Got a call today at 09.30 asking how much from town to Anfield & back for the football I thought I would not offer too cheap a price because I didn't expect for one minute they would go for it so Quoted £450 but to my surprise he said yes can I be picked up at 10.30

So I quickly phoned around the drivers in the order for the big jobs rota and nearly got to the end of the list before one said yes so he's going to have a good day :p

But if people have got money to burn like that maybe the recession is over so thats 3 passengers £450 for the taxi there plus the tickets food and drink £15 to take the baby sitter over and whatever he is paying her !

dont take a cheque, but do take a counterfeit note checker, and ask for payment when you get to Anfield....or before you leave...

He might be on the dole so he can afford to go.

Pleased you got a nice job.

Still cheaper by your transport than the train.

As Sussex says, work out the train fares.

I had this last month at terminal 5, a five hander going to Birmingham.

I quoted a very reasonable £330 as its not bad getting home for me from Brum, but they said too much, so I told them the costs of the Heathrow express at 5 x £20, plus the Virgin fare (not booked, walk on) of about £70 x 5 . . . and suddenly they saw the light!

Then they went looking for a bus.

With some folks it's pointless trying to explain, they probably paid £150 and got home 12 hours later.

A strange one is that - who issues cheques these days? Anyone who is as well heeled as that would no doubt have a piece of plastic to more than cover the amount!! A cheque even if it is from Coutts can still bounce..............or could have been stolen!! - hope not.

Not everyone accepts plastic. I have to use cheques to pay for all our licensing at the council because there is no other way to pay.
