Where we are we don't have a fixed tarrif. As long as you display it thats good. You don't even need a meter as long as you agree on a fare before you start. However I am just starting up my 2nd car and have a driver. I therefore am already the cheapest Taxi service in this area and I will be reducing them to

Tariff 1
£4.40 start (includes first Mile)
£2.20 every extra mile
£30 Waiting time per hour.

Tariff 2
£5.60 start (includes 7/10 of a mile)
£3.30 every extra mile
£30 Waiting time per hour.

By the way we are not listed in the Taxi magazine Fares by Borough but I think we are the most expensive in the UK apart from London Cabbies and Luton Airport ones.

Kindest regards Alchy

We are in the process of appealing the following tariffs
Tariff 1
£2.00 start then £1.30 a mile 6am to midnight Mon to Fri

tariff 2
£3.00 start then £1.30 a mile from midnight to 6am, and from midnight Fri to 6am Mon all weekend
There is no starting distance its strait off

we are appealing tariff 2 as it would be a killer in our area as 90% of the population are on the minimum wage and there are buses every ten mins
The appeal will be heard on April the 19th by the traffic commissioner.

Our presant tariff reads
Tariff1
£1.30 for the first 380 meters then 10p every 180 merers

tariff 2
from 6pm to 6am 70p extra

Your fairs will kill you and your punters when they see the meter

You should definataly reduce both tarrifs by 50% or you will go out of buisness, where do you work Monaco???? where they pay the same as tariff 2 for a coke????
All it would take is for Green Badge   or any of us here to come to your area and start up a PH, and under cut you and we would be quids in :D

Done a job last week from Marlow Bucks to Heathrow charged 30.00 the customer said that was good as the black cab he had earlier had charged him 84.00 now that is steep.

yeh! 15 miles at £2 a mile is about what we charge up here.
£84 quid's a bit rich though, but i guess it depends on traffic.
you must remember that hack prices are based on the quality of vehicle we have and thus we have to charge more

although i did get £65 the other day thier for a 22 mile journey from the airport to the police college at kincardine, but that was just getting some of my money back that the police have cost me over the years
