We pride ourselves on being on time for jobs. It happened again last night with a customer. Booked the car for 23.30 I arrived at the pick up address at 23.21. I waited until 23.30 and then I knocked on the door, no reply. I rang the mobile phone number, no answer. At 23.40 A sent a text message that I couldn't wait any longer or I would be late for the rest of my bookings. I then left. At 23.50 I got a call from the customer asking where I was and they were most upset when I told them. The woman said that I didn't ring or leave a message, which is strange because how did she get my mobile number unless she read the message. Still that will be I customer that someone else can have. The next customer was on time and gave me a good tip.

whilst a whitevanman on multidrop round we used to card the door and note a few details... "white mondeo on drive/front door green/tabby cat in window" sort of thing, they stumble when you hit them with the facts... |

I give 10 minutes grace usually, or if I've time and know they know I'm there longer but with a £4.00 per 15 minute waiting charge. But if I'm busy it's ten minutes and I'm away. Not always easy though if you'd a long way to drive to the pick up point. Lateness is bad manners in my book. |

I used to hate crowded pubs or parties/wedding reception pickups, do you go in, wait outside and hope, no-one wants to leave on time and book you for 23.50 to avoid time and half then dont come out till 00.15... |

Go in, Announce yourself and who your after, then if they don't come out within a reasonable time of the agreed time and your not going to lose to much money by leaving them behind or your pushed for time...let them walk...they knew the score. |

In a room with 200 plus people yeah that'll work if you are lucky you can get the DJ to make an announcement but then I find that only works one in three times |

Thank the Lord for call-back/text-back. Not being the most patient of folks, punters get five minutes if they are lucky. |

Been lucky recently, never had any runners or people not willing to pay' worst one yet was some old drunk guy who couldn't get out the car and when he did get out he fell over and and to help him up (hurting my shoulder in the process) and call an an ambulance cause he split his head open, so waited 5 minutes for the ambulance and get back to work and hopefully Hogmanay should be good I'm only staying out during the day tomorrow far to many drunks at new year' night |
