I had a job this afternoon to pick up a regular customer. The pick up was from a house within a haulage yard. With it being Sunday the yard was closed. They have big double steel gates and a barrier just as you go through the gates. As I approached the gates they began to open. Good I thought someone at the house has seen me and sorted it. I drive through the gates as far as I can but the barrier does not go up. I then get a call on my mobile to tell me the code to enter in the keypad to lift the barrier. great, I get out of the car and I can see 4 different keypads. By the time I get to the second keypad I notice the gates are closing and the car is in the way.
Now I start to panic. How can I stop both gates from closing? I run around the car to the drivers side and hang on to the gate for all I'm worth and it stops about 3 inches from the side of the car. The gate on the other side just misses the car and closes. Now I still don't know if I stopped the gate or there is a sensor somewhere that stopped it from hitting the car but there was an unpleasent aroma around me for a few minutes if you get my drift.
