2. If you would consider a discount for customers, under what terms would those discounts apply. Very few of our customers get a discount. The vast majority are given by the driver, not the company.

3. What do you consider to be a 'long distance run'. We have a rota. The trigger is £25. Set by driver agreement.

4. If the rate for a long distance run is different to the standard fare rate what would it be. No different from standard. We do 3 Airports on a set fare (again agreed by drivers) but only as an incentive against other firms in town.

5. What do you think of having to wear a shirt and tie (clip on if preferred) for work. Prefer smart/casual. A collard shirt/polo shirt rather than a crew/v-neck T-shirt.

6. What do you think a fair radio rent/settle would be.

Dont forget you can get most of that back, if not more

Oh I know, my treasurer keeps reminding me when I go off on a rant about paying VAT on wages. Which, to me, when it's based on the weigh-in before wages, PAYE and NI are removed, looks like a stealth tax.

I'd probably need my money minded compadre to help with a more concise answer, but we draw in approx £2k in radio fees this is income subject to vat. From that income all the office costs including wages are paid. So in my eyes we pay vat on wages. I may be wrong, but it's how I've always read it. My treasurer reads it differently, but he would;-)
