Post subject:  An Interesting Meeting

Some comments on here lately from the mugs section reminded me of meet I had IN a boozer with a licensing officer some years ago :D

I wont reveal the location but it was rural and some distance from London, I was assisting someone who had dropped in the poop and thought an orf the record rabbit would be helpful it was job done. But what was interesting this Licensing Officers take on Drivers, now this LO was ex mob with a good rank and nearing retirement, he had little time for unions and had never been in one and was a Tory through and through.

He after a couple of shants opened up somewhat and told tales I found at that astounding

Evidently 60% of complaints arriving on his desk came from Drivers complaining about other drivers and showing photographic evidence of offences, such as illegal parking, lights out, even a close up of tyres. naturally they were all given in confidence nice eh.

There was a gross shortage of ranks on the manor and the Hacks would extend the rank by parking on the pavement, double yellers, ziz zagz at zebras, across school entrances, and block Ambulance access to a Care home all this was photographed by Drivers and presented to the LO by other drivers who then proceeded to do it themselves.

. There was an association with 12 members fronted by a nutter who started his own political party and was going to be the MP and Mayor at the same time, he also made a record and was giving copies away in the street, later he spotted a UFO and observed aliens creating crop circles!d which he reported to the local rag and he was interviewed on the box about.

,Mr LO was amazed at this character who attempted to address council meetings wearing an orange wig. Anyway MR lo said it was no prob to find Cabs with dodgy tyres faulty lights and on one occasion a cab with NO windscreen wipers some drivers in effect lived in their vehicles! Fights between drivers was not exactly infrequent, hardly surprising EH. BUT Mr LO#s biggest gripe was every year they would request a fare increase BUT whenever they carried a passenger they would always NOT charge what was on the meter always less, indeed punters would walk up and down ranks waiting for the biggest discount off the meter sometimes it reached 70%!

His view was that the average cab Driver and in particular any ex mob Drivers and remember he was also ex mob were that effing stupid that they should be sterilized and their kids put into care! He recalled times when Drivers were meeting him in his office that their behavior was so servile as to be embarrassing he was utterly disgusted at their servility. Now this geezer kicked the bucket and when I met him I thought he was exaggerating but after being on here for a few months you know what Tory boy had a point

Sounds about right here too. One of our former LO's was an ex screw and a right arrogant arse. but at least he got the job done and wouldn't take any crap from anyone.

But yeh, your drinking buddy just about sums it up fora lot of drivers out there.

I thought he was going a bit strong in his assertion that many were that stupid they should be sterilised so as to prevent their STUPIDITY AND SERVILITY being passed on to future generations , but seeing lately wannabe resorting to labelling me a [edited by admin] which of course is a child molester, due to his intellectual inability to construct an argument maybe he had a point :D :D

Can anyone explain why ex mob ie services and in particular the army turn out cretins wholesale, its not only me that's noticed this LO raved about it, skippy and Jimbo being prime examples completely gormless. :D and in the case of Jimbo COMPLETELY SERVILLE

The majority of drivers are like that - sadly it would cost a fortune in fluid!

we have one of those he's the world champion of coming up with excuses not to do anything about anything

BUT I can understand there being a lot of complaints from drivers about drivers because some of the skulduggery, abuse and two faced antics that go on in our trade would make gangsters look like saints

Perhaps ex forces are used to things being run properly and when they see things not being done right, they don't like it.

I suppose it's like the left wing turning out idiots wholesale...............................
