so what is the corect proceedure if you have hassle getting your money at the end of jorneys

the police say it a civil matter but how do you go about getting a claim for it together

i know some police officer will help you but other just spit civil matter at you

so how do you obtain the perps details to launch a civil claim against them

and what if the perp become agresive to you

it so unclear and driver get locked up when situation like i not paying fare and damage car happen and driver get in scuffle

thanks capt :)

but look at what is in it

---------------------------------------------------------------

Actions a driv
er could take:
Phone the police.
You can take the offender to the police station, but you must be aware that
you are making a citizen's arrest.
You need to be clear on the offence you are arresting for and tell the offender
you are taking this action.
You have the right to arrest as the offence is an
“arrestable offence”.

so basic you have to arrest the perp who isnt going to accept that for one minute leading to this

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You can use reasonable force. Broadly that means you can only use force if
the offender is resisting, and can only use sufficient force to apprehend. This
is complicated and subjectiv
e.
If force has to be used you are advised not to do so. You run the risk of injury
to yourself and damage to your vehicle. If you injure the passenger you could
be charged, you have to account for the force used. As the offence is not a
very “serious” on
e , it is not worth using 'reasonable force' better to let the
offender go and report the matter.

so dont do anything just let them get away with it as it always going to result in you needing to handle person an advise seem to be let them do it so they tell everyone you dont have to pay for taxi anymore

greyer area than a 90 year olds head imo

CCTV would help.

However if they never intended to pay then that's a criminal matter.

If they suddenly find they have lost or haven't got it, then that is a civil matter.

If they don't give you their details, then that could be a criminal matter as they are deliberately not paying.

There isn't a good plan on what to do, as each situation is different. But some drivers have thought f*** it and left, and others have remembered the address and dealt with the matter in other ways.

But with experience it happens less and less.

Personally speaking, if they havent got the cash to pay i find demanding money with menace usually does the trick,or ill take your phone as a deposit.
