Had a bit of fun last night. I'm a P/H driver and I had a job to pick up from the train station at about 23.00 last night. I arrived at the station, a few people came up to me with the wrong name and I eventually picked up my customer.......as I was helping him put his bags in the boot, I noticed an official looking person taking down the licence number off my car. I asked him what he was doing and he said, and I quote...."you'll fu**ing find out, you fu**ers come in here and pick up and you're not allowed to"......charming I thought. I know that there is only one hackney firm that is allowed to 'rank-up' at the station, but I'm pretty sure if a P/H firm has a booking, then we can pick up, pretty much wherever. Or am I wrong? I didn't pick up the customer on the rank either (they have their own seperate lane), so I haven't got a clue what this guys problem was. Probably just peed off hackneys, annoyed that people would rather ring a P/H firm, and wait up to 10 minutes for it, rather that jump in a hackney and get charged extra because they have the audacity to have bags with them!! Also, is it just Plymouth where most hackney drivers look like a pitbull chewing on a wasp? Rant over, have a good night people. |

dont worry paul. like you said, they cant work out why the customers are prepared to wait for a PH instead of jumping in one of the dozon hacks ranked up outside the front door. says a lot for the service they must be providing. you got a legit booking which will be recorded on the office computer system. so let them get all hot and bothered over it, they only have themselves to blame for losing the customers. |

I would have rang the council first thing and reported the idiots comments. If they ask who it was, then just say it was the person who is going to report me. But for the future just take a photo of him from a camera phone. That will give him something to moan about.

I think he must have been surprised that a driver actually got out of his car to help a customer. The last time a London cabbie got out of his car to help a customer he also gave the horse pulling it an apple.

Ollie i was waiting for a booked fare down there the other night. a punter walked over to a black cab with 3 cases, all that driver did was put the meter on as soon as the door was opened and kept pushing the extras button everytime the customer put a case in the back. and they wonder why they lose business to PH?

Ollie Sometimes Ollie I have to get out, you see half way through a shift I find myself having to make more room in the cash bag. Still if i've any spare change i'll throw it your way, help pay for your vehicle rental and office fee's.
If you want the apple core, i'll save that for you as well. |
