What a lovely day it was. The sun was shining, between jobs I spent the day cleaning my vintage buses for their wedding jobs today ; birds were flying overhead , I could hear the whistles of the steam trains on the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway ...... then overhead the roar of The Spitfire doing his day trips out of Lydd Airport .

What spoilt it a bit was talking to the maintenance man where the buses are parked who says how wonderful it is seeing and hearing the Spitfire. Then hearing of complaints from residents of Lympne about the noise of the Spitfire. Don't these t***s REALISE the significance of such a wonderful machine?

I do not for one minute think that the significance was lost for one minute. Would you feel the same if tanks were rolling down your street or air sirens going off - both of those were very significant. I personally would not be gutted if I never saw or heard another war machine for the rest of my life. Steam trains might be a bit intriguing at first but after a while it would p!$$ me off....................as they say "Silence is Golden", in general there is too much noise these days.

Where I grew up we had the air raid sirens going off every Saturday at 11.00am Just to make sure they were working. We really missed them when the testing stopped around 1970.

just back from driving said vintage bus to Tunbridge Wells and back so still a bit shaky and fingers going dyslexic... only to hear the lovely sound of the 12 cylinder Merlin flying over again. Wonderful.

We regularly get the battle of britain flight flying over on their way to or from appearances but what is annoying is that the eurofighters now practise dogfighting above the town and even though they are at high altitude the roar of the engines at ground level is deafening ! even at 30000 feet if your right underneath a climbing aircraft you can't hear a person stood 5 feet away if they are shouting !!!

it was a beautiful day yesterday, got up to 20 degrees, but today it was a wash out, rain didn't stop all day and some parts of roads were flooded, but i like it like that, it's more busy and the car was needing a wash but the rain done most of it for me

Rains slackened off in the last hour but now thick fog has taken it's place around the coastal roads...

Roll on Summer.

P*ssed down here all day - roads closed due to flooding and coastal rail line closed due to land slide.

Trade always poor here. the sheep don't go out very much! An overcast day but no rian, some sunny intervals, and the Spitfire out and about...

Trade in general is just not good. I am sure that it is an indication that this country is slipping deeper and deeper into the mire.

The streets are my barometer to the economy..............nothing being done to alter it, unless you live in London (Our other country).
