About 9 this morning an old H plate banger merc estate went into the back of me, was at a give way and luckily there was nothing coming or i would have been ploughed into by another car, it was on a flat surface so luckily my foot wasn't on the brake so he shunted the superb forwards instead of ripping the bumper off, i put the hazards on and drove the car onto the pavement, got out as did the other man who was aged about 40 i would say, i asked him if he was okay and asked him for his details, he then started balling in my face saying that he wasn't giving me any of his details, i then took his reg and phoned for the police since he wasn't complying with my self, he went and sat in his car and the police took 30 minutes to arrive, he gave them them his details and now i will go through insurance to fix the car, the damage is extremely minor, a little hole in the bumper, but he has cracked my taxi plate to will need to get a new one of them, oh the joys of driving

Sounds like a grade A arsehole.

The cops won't appreciate being called out for this. He'll be lucky not to get charged with careless driving.

He may also be charged with failing to provide his details.

Car off for at least 6 weeks, whiplash,at least £5000, loss of earnings at £1000 per week, possible loan car, retest as well new plate, the insurance could even write it off being a new car, the damage may look superficial, but the boot floor pan could be bent, feck it demand a new car just to be on the safe side and any money for transferring everything

checked the underneath of car on a ramp luckily everything is in good order, my foot wasn't on the brake so there wasn't too much resistant force or else some good damage could have been done, car doesn't need a retest just a new plate

I think I'd be tempted to fore go a claim for that amount of damage, It may be prudent to fly below the Insurance companies Radar for fear of being ripped off by them later.

But then if you did that the rear ender would place all the blame at your door step for not raising a claim when they already have..tricky!!

There's about £300 worth of damage there tops, bumper repair from a mobile repair van £130, new plate £30, time off road getting it repaired and running around for the new plate £140.

Skippy wants to rinse the insurance company for over £19,000 for the car that's got £300 worth of damage. Car off road for 6 weeks, loan car @ £200 a day for 42 days = £8,200, £5,000 whiplash, loss or earnings for 6 weeks @£6,000. Where's this £1,000 a week come from? Do you really think they'll pay out £1,000 a week? :badgrin: :badgrin: :badgrin: :badgrin: :badgrin: :badgrin:
