Unfortunately until such time as a passenger is killed in a vehicle driven by a driver on his 15th hour I doubt very much will be done. Watch the witch hunt then for who is to blame, because, the council won't be putting their hands up. They reckon you have a 64% increased chance of a heart attack sat down doing your job and that's only on an 8 hour day without the added pressure of driving

I had to wait in que from 4pm-7pm and got a £7 fare then ranked up again for another 2hours for a £10 fare.
Working 12hours+ for £50
Mk has over 300 Hackney cabs with only few ranks the main one being the station.

Chaps if a plumber comes up to you moaning he hasn't got any work, or a chippy, or even a bricky, surely you say to him go get another trade/job.

Or do you lobby for restrictions on said trades?

No one owes us a living.

I have to wonder why they bother and how do they pay for their motors, insurance etc?

Do they hand out badges like confetti to all and sundry?

Flawed argument,so do tell why some areas still have restrictions ? It couldnt be because of what this fella in MK is on about could it,endless queues to get on a rank,no money to be earned ect ect.

It looks a dull old place doesn't it. That photo makes the place look like something from Russia.

Nah Russian cities have far more architectural merit ! MK is more like a suburb of Mumbai or Karachi ! jerry built and about as aesthetically pleasing as a nuclear bunker !

Wow toooo many cabss.
I work in a restricted area, Small little town not alot of trade, not much of a busy Town centre or Train station but as are cabs are restricted here we still make a good decent living.
On our train station youll see maximum of about 10Cabs on busy times.
And average wait on evenings is about 15-30Mins to get a fare but if we got deregulated itll be same as Milton Keynes.
I never hope Deregulations upon anyone as Imo i think it destroys honest cab drivers livlihoods.

It will come very soon indeed. Cab drivers haven't got a leg to stand on when it comes to deregulation. You can shout all you like to the Councils that you paid £50K for something that isn't yours and that's owned by the Council.

It's coming to an area near you.
