It was the hunt ball last night. I was there early for a return fare. There was a taxi driver in front of me who was getting a bit annoyed because his punters were late out. After 20 minutes he left. A couple of minutes later his customers came out to find him gone. One of them asked me if I could take them home so I asked where to. They were going to the village at the end of the drive, a distance of 1.3 miles. Now as I was in a hackney and I was still within my LA and I had a bit of time to wait, I agreed to take them using the meter of course. The chap who asked me said that he would make it worth my time so off we went. When we arrived at the destination the fare was £7.80. There were 6 of them so it was rate 4 here. The group thanked me for "saving" them from the walk and the chap pressed a note in my hand and said it was the easiest £50 that I would earn that night. |

If the driver knew where he was going and for the £7.80 fare it would have clocked I would've pulled off. I only give punters 5-7 minutes after their time no matter where they are going. Nice result for you though. |

You was parked outside waiting for a return fare when someone else approached you. They didnt flag you down so thats Illegal Touting right? |

If Grandad was in his own licensing area he wasnt doing anything illegal, also the punters approached him so he didnt call out "im free if anyones going local" so i dont think you could class him being in the right place at the right time as touting. I had a £40 drop off the other night after a multi drop in the 8 seater HC and luckily for me as the last two were getting out i got approached by a punter coming back towards my base, another £20 plus a £5 tip. Happy Days |

It was not illegal in anyway, shape or form. As this event was in my LA and I was in a hackney vehicle, I could have sat there all night picking up punters who asked me to take them. |

So in future i can just park outside a busy place and hope customers approach me? Its not Illegal as long as im in my area and i got my hackney Nicee. Ill just do that everyday then better than waiting my turn on the rank just wait on my own outside a busy place. I guarantee you if i said i did what you did all you guys would be saying its Illegal or going against it as whatever i say seems to be always Illegal, Against the law or Not good. |

Go to B&Q and buy some grass seed. Proceed to pour in to each ear. Give ones head a shake and within a week the seed will start to sprout giving you a brain. |

2 weeks ago I got an old guy who went from one end of a street to another, didn't even move the meter so it was £2 and he gave me a tenner and said "keep it" So £10 for a 2 pound job was very Surprising, I don't bother too much with tips, as long as I get minimum of what is the total on the meter that will do me, but last week I got an old lady going to the far end of Glasgow she Had one of those zimmers that you need to collapse fold and then put in the boot, then while driving there I put my window down a bit and then she abruptly told me to put it back up, then she screamed at me to turn the radio off as she didn't like what was on, and then to make it even more worse we got there meter came to £30.90 and she gave me £30, cheeky cow not even a tip for having to fold that pice of metal junk into the boot and getting screamed at in my own car, so I just lifted the zimmer out the boot (didn't unfold it) sat it on the pavement and drove off, |

I was talking to another driver. But, yes it was private land. It was in the grounds of Belvoir castle. |
