A guy in our manor yesterday is hanging up his keys and retiring as a Hackney Cab Driver after his father bought the Hackney Carriage Taxi plate in 1966 for £1,200.
His father bought in 1966 and they both drove the cab untill 1970 which then he took over and since has been driving the cab, Now after 47 years in the trade he has decided to Sell his Plate along with his 2009 Fiat TW200,
He is a verry fit guy for his age an Jamican who came into this country in Late 50s Verry Strong Guy And Phisically And Mentally Fit, Weekends He used start his shift 6am and work till 4am Saturday come back on road 8am and drive till 4am with the occation little breaks in between.

70-80
But looks younger than me and im 40,
We have medical tests every year to determain if you can still drive taxis but he passes the tests,
He been working only 2days for past 10-20 years and during the week exercises, goes on jobs every morning after he wakes up and before he sleeps, dont drink any alcahol or bad foods, always drinking water.
Most phisically fit guy ive seen in my lifee.

I think the point is the amount of hours he works in one shift.

Even the fittest of the fit need to sleep.

Working those long hours I think the fact he has retired is a cause for celebration that he hasn't killed people by falling asleep.
