Taxi Driver Online

Got a job yesterday from another local ph operator to collect 5 pax from a village 5 miles away to a restaurant another 5 miles away, a round trip of about 15 miles each way. Pick up 1815.

I got there at 1815 to be met by said passenger moaning that I was late. Huh? Then "how much will it be? Told them my price which was £5 dearer than the other guy quoted. They originally wanted a 4 seater, I had a 6 seater. With their snotty attitude and moaning I suggested they might like to book with someone else and politely asked them to get out of the car. I wasn't going to put up with moaning for 15 minutes and risk the dispute over pricing. Pah!

They're going to tell all their friends about the bad service etc. With 74 people living in that village I'm not particularly bothered. I won't recommend their restaurant either.

Rule no 1, if you don't want to do a job, for whatever reason, don't do it.

It might cost you a few quid in the short term, but reduces stress in the longer term.

I love punters, but that doesn't mean they are all gods.

Always dangerous accepting jobs from 3rd parties 9 times out of 10 it's a job they don't want to do or want rid of because their drivers refuse to take it on

It turns out the chap who took the job on probably couldn't do it for the price he quoted. He has 8 dead miles to the pick up, 4.5 mile trip, then 9 miles dead back to his place. His £25 return price was for a 6-seater too! Why take work on if you can't cover it?

He's another one who doesn't really have a clue or any consistency with his pricing, despite being in the business for more years than I.

I ended up with a Job yesterday , the punter thought he had booked "Joe Cheap" Taxis and was a tad confused when I Rolled up, anyways, we too took him to where he was going and then back later, I charged him full price of £20 and he whined that the other company, the one he thought he had phoned does it for only £14

anyway, I got the last laugh as he'd left the his house keys at the place were he'd just been and we had to go back for them...I ended up with £30 where as Joe Cheap would only have ended up with a possible £14.00

I reckon "Joe cheap" is just trying to cut off his nose to spite his face just to poach a previous customer of mine. He can have him, I'll focus on the Money Clients.
