Don't use Mercury.

Auriga is very expensive and now uses Dark Age technology, or more modern s*** technology.

let me rephrase what I am asking, the only reason is that I am on the verge of getting my own software written. As I am fed up of the over priced technology on the market that is not the best. What features do you think I should include:

Here is a few i thought of

in car credit card payments
cctv
auto update navigation
live traffic updates

brain is always useful, the whole point of software is to help manage drivers who lack brains.

What's wrong with your current system from Marandy? You credit it with a 300% growth in your business over the last 2 years in the latest issue of the Taxi & Private Hire magazine!

What about the operators who can't use the system? We've got quite a few of them who couldn't put a job in right if they had 3 weeks to do it. I'm fooked off with working with vvank office staff.

I use autocab D21 and must say it works well but is very old, some other companies have been using it since the 90's I heard, but better to stick with the devil you know but would like to see an update with the system like satnav and radio built into one unit, we have 300 cars+ and £72 off each car every Monday for radio money, so a minimum of £21600 is going to them every week so I think we are more than capable of getting a updated system

I concur, there's always updates for any system out there, you can have old data heads but still have a cracking system if you have the updates installed correctly.

You'll never get a Data Head, radio and sat nav system built into one. I bet your Data Heads are interfaced with your radios so there's no radio chatter? If they aren't why not.

Your company might be getting £21,600 a week in rentals but think of their overheads each month like wages, how many office staff are working on a Saturday night, employers liability insurance, rates, income tax etc etc.

Yes if i have my radio and datahead on i can't hear any radio chat unless the controller switches on voice mode and needs me or me and a other few cars, or if i type "190S" in that send a voice request to them and then voice mode comes on and i can speak to base, but if i have my datahead off and just my radio on i can hear radio chat then but only the controllers voice not any of the drivers, when i am not for hire i often switch the radio on to see what is happening on the system
