Can anyone recommend a good finance company for getting taxi/ph cars for people with poor credit history I have been out of work for the last 2 1/2 years and am having a problem getting finance |

You should first check what your credit rating is, try Equifax and pay the £2 for the credit report. This will allow you to see what the finance companies can see. Also if you're not on the electoral roll that will affect your ability to obtain credit as well. The trouble is when you can't get credit for a vehicle through regular channels only the high rated lenders are left, have you considered settling a vehicle it sometimes works out cheaper that way. |

It's odd how the Finance companies react to your credit ratings, the less likely you appear able to pay your loan back then the more expensive it becomes to borrow...call me a cynic but it seems almost like they want you to default on your repayments so as they can cream you for more dosh later by means of repossession of goods and confiscation of assets.

Work like a so and so for a while, and save for your own car. |

I know leasing isn't the same as renting or buying; at least with leasing a car I have the benefit of a new car every couple of years with a warranty if anything goes wrong. with an older car there's the constant problem of repairs and possibly reliability. If you're VAT registered there's the benefit that you get the vat back on the lease fees, and the lease fees are deductible for tax purposes. |

Most lease companies stipulate an annual mileage of around 10K, how do you get around that without having to pay a mileage premium |
