I buy several each year, the British Legion helped my mum (RIP) and my dad (92 stroke victim), dad had volunteered for special unit in WW2 as his transfer from the warwicks to the staffs was worrying due to the staffs rate of losses (our family have a very high sense of self preservation), the unit was a GHQ comms unit driving a radio truck+generator following the battle line, he lost 1 generator in a ditch in Italy but still saw Monte Cassino "it got a bit battered" he said, his trip started with a 6 week cruise, from Scotland to Durban S.A. then up through North Africa Libya/Egypt, across to Italy, and most of Europe, he has seen more of the med than me. Despite his stroke and age he remembers the name of his troopship (and the fact he isnt a good sailor) and his times spent racing a Moto Guzzi bike up a mountain and borrowing wheels of a huge merc open staff car, using the interweb i found pics of the ship (which he recognised straight away), his day off on an Italian railway, his old haulage employer
