Its under the £600 a week the benefit scroungers need to entice them i suppose

A badge here requires knowledge, commitment time and money. 6 months and a couple of grand are average. No doubt yours requires a photo, a form and a few quid.
Driving a cab is beyond the reach of the average benefit claimant being hounded by penury and IDS.

It's also the difference between a thriving economy and one based on enforced austerity. We have one of the lowest unemployment rates anywhere in the UK. People travel here to work from all over the UK.
On the flip side, the cost of living is probably the highest outside the SE of England. £20K PA isn't really all that much here.

how dare you, we have to pay £150 and take a knowledge test too

across Cannock chase....

How can a LA decide where you have to take a knowledge test when within a LA there are several medium sized urban areas and few will work in 1 when based in another?

ours uses its own town but many drivers PH/HC dont ever get into it

Last time i received the Dole all i got was £34 a week, for that I had to get a Neighbour to Physically sign my fortnighly claim form, go visit the Dole office 30 miles away every month and apply for every job going.

When did it become more profitable to be a doley than a worker...maybe i should jack in work and let you lot keep me, It's been a while since I've had a day or two off after all. :?

when you have 4 or more kids and also get housing benefits...

Quote:
the couple - neither of whom work and who receive an astonishing £44,000 in benefits a year - have been housed in the £500,000 property by their local council.

Quote:
They receive the equivalent of £44,000 a year in benefits, a figure made up of £1,500 a month housing benefit; £1,200 a month child tax credit; £560 a month child benefits; £280 job seeker's allowance and £1,600 a year in council tax.

That's what they'd like you to think everyone gets. The reality is rather more like this.

No, I'm saying the vast majority of claimants get far far less than this. It just suits right wing toilet papers like the mail to keep highlighting these extreme cases.

How about a few stories about fat cat bankers living it up on their tax payer funded, million pound bonuses?
Or one about right wing media moguls who live in France to body swerve paying UK tax?

I won't hold my breath.

a family (even a small one) in rented housing (especially in London) will always find benefits generate more than a job on the NMW, thats a fact

a single bloke with no job living with parents would grab a £20K job, maybe not a family man already getting more off the DSS and HB

And who gets all the HB money?

Let me clue you in, if you haven't worked it out.
It sure as hell isn't the poor schmuk on the dole or his family. By and large, they get a grotty overpriced pad, a pittance and the eternal scorn of the same right wing kvntz who profit from their misery on a daily basis.

I was happier In those old Days of Pounds Shillings and Pence, MORRIS minors and before milk became homogenised, those Innocent Days of Golliwogs being allowed on Jam Jars, and Idi Amin had yet to kick out 250,000 Indians from Uganda and we were still British to the core and were still not Part of the Common Market.

Now It's Decimilisation, metrification, tyrannical EU rules, Furriners by the Million, and Political correctness that has oppressed free speech to the point of fechin madness. We are all Fecked Unless we're of foreign extraction or on a transgender journey..only the furriners and LGBT's get what they want here these days..
